The Sunmi barcode scanner lets you ring up products instantly by scanning their barcodes at the POS. To get everything working, you first need to assign SKU codes to your products in the Munchi dashboard, then configure the scanner hardware, and finally enable barcode scanning in your POS settings.
SKU codes must be assigned to products in the Munchi dashboard before scanning will work. The scanner looks up items by their SKU, so any product without one will not be recognised at the POS.

Step 1: Assign SKU Codes to Your Products

Open the Munchi dashboard

Go to https://dashboard.gomunchi.com/ and click on Products.

Select a product

Click the product you want to make scannable.

Enter the SKU

In the product details, enter the product’s Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) code in the designated field.

Save the product

Click Save to apply the SKU. Repeat this process for every product you want to scan at the POS.

Step 2: Connect the Scanner Hardware

Plug in the scanner

Connect the scanner cable to the adapter, then plug the other end into the POS tablet’s port.

Run the scanner setup sequence

Using the scanner, scan the following barcodes in order:
  1. Enter setup barcode
  2. Restore all factory defaults barcode
  3. Exit setup barcode
This resets the scanner to the correct configuration for use with Munchi POS.

Step 3: Enable Barcode Scanning in POS Settings

Open POS Settings

Navigate to Settings in your POS app.

Go to System

Tap System from the settings menu.

Turn on Barcode Scanning

Toggle Barcode scanning to the on position. Your POS is now ready to accept scanned products.
